Inspired by Adachi Mitsuru (Baseball and Life…)

 

Recently, I’ve been brawling with life’s challenges. It’s tough for everyone! There are times when you just want to give up… times when you just want to escape reality and live in a world only attainable by your imagination.

 

Duhh! I do that a lot! I tend to escape reality and dive into a world, which might also be common to people like me. *smirks*

 

The world I’m talking about, of course, is the anime-slash-manga-slash-game world.
I’m NOT done with my BASEBALL STREAK yet! I’ve been into Adachi Mitsuru‘s manga these days… I’ve watched Cross Game, read Touch and H2.. These are not-so-new baseball ani and manga but it’s worth your time.

 

They don’t just focus on baseball, but also with the evolution of each character.

 

Adachi Mitsuru-sensei’s works give the extremes of feelings… He’s humorous AF, but can also unconsciously melt down one’s heart… Like WTF Adachi-sensei!!!! What did you do to me??? I’m humongously in love with your works!
His works made me realize a lot of things. Everything is a journey… life and love included.

 

Sometimes, we tend to fast forward everything… We immediately make decisions which we aren’t sure of. Waiting is never a part of our vocabulary.

 

Waiting, sometimes, can help us minimize regrets.
Life is unpredictable. It’s always bound by fate.
Of course, we CAN create our own fate by the decisions we take. However, I DO believe in parallel worlds…
There isn’t only a single ending… but hundreds? thousands? or even more of them!

 

 

It can end in a blink of an eye…
You can follow a straight line…
You can go right or left…
But you can also pass a maze the end of which is unreachable.

If you compare life with something from “baseball”… It would be like this..
The “BALL” would be your existence… a plain entity that simply exists but we don’t know how and why.

 

The “BATTERY” would be the kind of life you want to live..

 

You would be the “PITCHER” and the “CATCHER’S MITT” is your goal.
In order for your existence to have a purpose, you have to throw it as hard and as intelligently as you can to the catcher’s mitt.
As the pitcher of your own existence, you can decide on how your life should be…

 

 

Would it be a 150km-fastball, straight in the middle?

OR Would you rather make it more interesting by throwing a slider, a curveball or a forkball?

You can even change the pace of your life by using a change-up!!!

 

Sounds easy, right?

However, there’s always a force that stops you from reaching your goal…

 

What do we call them?

 

Yes, “BATTERS”!

 

They even come in different types…

 

A force that will throw you to another goal (directly to another mitt).

 

A force that will throw you either up or down… no matter where, it’s still a pain in the a**. (a hit)

 

A slight force, but will bring your existence down to the ground and have something be stolen from you. (a sacrifice bunt)

 

And lastly, there’s always this force that most of us are afraid of…

 

“SLUGGERS”

 

It’s a force that will throw your existence out of the park and will take almost everything away from you!
BUT…

Hold your horses!!!

Every cloud has a silver lining.

 

 

Being hit, having your base stolen, committing errors and being sent out of the park???

 

 

DUDE!!!

 

 

The game doesn’t end there!! There are 9 innings in one game…

 

This means, you have a lot of chances in your life.

 

 

If you stand firmly and stay on the mound without giving up another hit, you’ll definitely strikeout all those fvckin’ batters and reach your goal.

In the end, LIFE, like baseball, is full of fun and excitement.

 

 

So PLAY your LIFE not only with the motivation to WIN, but also with the drive to regret NOTHING.

Baseball anime… anyone???

Hey guys!

How’s it going? ^^

Are you guys into baseball? Do you play or watch it? Personally, I had no idea how it works. I mean… baseball is a rarity in my country. Most of the people play or watch basketball, boxing, volleyball and soccer. I’m not the sporty type either… though I used to play basketball when I was younger.

However amidst all these, I super love watching sports anime. To name a few, I love Slam Dunk (basketball), Kuroko no Basuke (basketball), Haikyuu!! (volleyball), Free !(swimming), Yowamushi Pedal (cycling), Yuri!!! on Ice (figure skating), Prince of Tennis (obviously… tennis), Days (soccer), Baby Steps (tennis), Prince of Stride (parkour) and even Cheer Danshi (cheerleading).

Watching sports anime brings out excitement, worry and a whole lot of emotions in me. Of course, I watch every genre but lately I’ve been into this field.

Going back~~~ (sorry… my keyboard is so talkative… xD) Baseball was NEVER my cup of tea. No matter how my Japanese students and friends explain the rules and other stuff, I always end up with a BIG question mark on my face. Well, I wasn’t interested… AT ALL. Funny how I imagine the baseball field as a slice of pizza. (Forgive me baseball fans… I was a total a**… xD)

One time, one of my Japanese friends who is a Fudanshi recommended me an anime. It was called “Ookiku Furikabutte”. He said there are a lot of “pairings” in it. (I’m a Fujoshi, by the way…) So, when I searched for it I was displeased. “Ehh? Baseball? I don’t understand baseball… I guess I’ll pass on this. Gomen ne, senpai!” was what I said. Fortunately, my fudanshi-senpai didn’t stop convincing me and I gave up. xD

Guess what??? I didn’t couldn’t focus on the pairings because I was too engrossed with the story. FVCK!!!!! Has baseball always been  THIS exciting? 

OoFuri paved the way for baseball in my life. (kudos!!! xD)  And then… I watched “DIA NO ACE…” Oh Em GOD of baseball!!!! xDD It was so exciting that I sometimes forget how to breathe… DAMN~!!!! I AM PATIENTLY WAITING FOR SEASON THREE~!!!! I also learned a lot….  rules, pitches, positions… name it!! These two baseball anime were focused on “KOSHIEN” (High School baseball league in Japan)

This time, I’m watching another baseball anime called “MAJOR”. It actually has six seasons and I just finished the first one an hour ago.

What made it different from the other baseball anime I’ve watched is that the first season isn’t about Koshien. It is focused on cute little kids. The main character “Goro Honda” is the son of a pro-baseball player. This season focused on this kid’s life. How he started to love the game that his father was so good at… how he started playing alone or sometimes with his kindergarten teacher… his first friend… his first team. Little league is so cute to watch, yet it’s still as exciting as Koshien.

Goro Honda is a great and strong kid. (Damn! I don’t want to spoil anyone who hasn’t watched it yet…) He was able to overcome really huge obstacles both in his baseball and personal life.

I cried heaps! I cannot NOT cry. T_T You know that feeling of your chest becoming tighter and tighter,  warm sensation slowly forming in your eyes… and voila! it’s flowing… like a river. More so, a waterfall!!?

~I’m back with my COSPLAY~

Hello everyone, especially to all the anime/manga lovers out there! I haven’t updated my blog (s) since forever and I want to cut this effin’ hiatus. I want to write again and thus, here I am…

 

Well, since this is my “Otaku” blog, I’ll be updating you (though this isn’t really significant to anyone else…lol xD) with my Otaku life… I.FVCKIN.COSPLAYED!!!! Yeah~~ I’m just so happy to cosplay two of my favorite anime characters last year (2016)…

 

To start with, I did ENMA AI.

 

ENMA AI is the protagonist/main character in the anime “Hell Girl”, otherwise known as “Jigouko Shoujo”.

 

Cosplaying her was actually kind of out of my league. Personality-wise, we are the total opposite of each other! She is a very cold individual and shows “close-to-zero” emotion. Her character is the epitome of REVENGE. Well, she has her reasons and of course, you’ll get to know her better once you watch the anime. So, if you’re interested, WATCH IT~!!! On the other hand, I am a person (am I??) who express things via emotion and such. I’m quite easy to read (as they say) and is never mysterious(?).

 

Anyway, I love this line from Enma Ai: “Ippen… shinde miru?” –> “How would you like to die?”

 

Basically, the greatest challenge in cosplaying this “serious-mysterious” character is staying in character. lol  I cannot NOT smile (damnit!) I lasted the whole event trying to keep myself in character though. (Good job, ME!) #thestrugglewasreal

Another character I did was TonyTony Chopper! YAAAAY~

 

Tonytony Chopper (guess a lot of people knows this cutie cotton candy lover “tanuki..NOT”), is the doctor of the “Straw Hat Pirates”. He is actually a reindeer (but often mistaken as a raccoon dog/tanuki) that ate the devil fruit “Hito – hito no mi”. Hito, in Japanese, means “man”. Thus, having eaten this devil fruit, this cute reindeer can transform into a “Human”.

 

I really love Chopper. Aside from being cute and cuddly, he’s such a genius doctor with a BIG heart. He’s sensitive, emotional, crazy and acts goofy most of the time. However, when time calls for it… he’s one of the most reliable “nakama (friend/group member) there is.

 

Ohh~ he’s also a “tsundere”… Tsundere is a Japanese term for a character development process that describes a person who is initially cold and even hostile towards another person before gradually showing a warmer side over time. (Thanks WIKIPEDIA) He loves saying this line while acting all bashful: “Ureshikunai yo! Konnoyaro!” –> “I’m not happy, you bastard!”

 

I guess my personality matches with him. That’s why, I enjoyed cosplaying him. I acted goofy and crazy around my friends and other people during the event. If given a chance, I’d love to cosplay him again.

 

So, those are my cosplay stories of 2016. As for this year, I don’t plan on doing some since I’m broke asf! (lol) Seriously, I need to save some bucks. However, I’m not closing my heart to cosplay… just my wallet (for now).

DA’GAS, it’s been eight long years.. and of course, the counting continues till eternity. You girls had taught me the true meaning of FRIENDSHIP. I feel so blessed to have known all of you and to be part of the group. To be honest, when I first transferred to DAA, I wasn’t happy. I feel sad and lonely~ I was missing my friends from my previous High School… but with you guys, moving on was just like a blink of an eye. Never did I thought that I’ll be that happy with my new school… thanks to you!

 

This time, we are no longer High School Students.. We are already a part of society, as I may say~ although we’re still as childish and as crazy at times.. 🙂 And I love being crazy with all of you!

 

I hope we could all bond together.. I mean, we still do~ but it’ll always be different if we aren’t complete.. so,

              Those quotes from the manga, Battle Royale, mentioned that people can draw out strength from being aware of one’s self… and of course, for accepting one’s self. But HOW?

 

              I guess, It comes NATURALLY.

              Knowing yourself is easy… but accepting who you are is completely on a different level. There are a lot of people who are in denial of their true selves. They hide who they really are. I know, we all have our reasons. Variety of it. But, does this makes us happy? Does denying our true selves protect us? Personally, I guess not. 

 

                  Drawing STRENGTH from self awareness and acceptance… HOW? 

 

                   Supposing, you’re someone who’s happy of who you are… you’re someone who accepts yourself, flaws included. Of course, you’re aware of the things that you are capable of doing, you know what you can do and what you can’t do. You are aware when to GO and when to STOP. If you know and accept yourself, you’ll have BETTER JUDGMENTS on things. You’ll know your limits— in the same way, you’ll know how to improve them.

                    Because of these, you’ll have CONFIDENCE to face every challenge that may arise… and that’s where your STRENGTH would come from… It isn’t simple – – – however, it isn’t impossible. 🙂

                    Battle Royale’s main character, Shuuya, is someone with a complicated background. An orphan to start with… plus the imminent death he’s facing by having his class chosen on “the program”. Having that, it would be really hard… especially if you aren’t physically and psychologically ready. Shuuya is someone so ordinary, yet, he knows himself. He accepts himself. He knows what he can and can’t do. 

                     Shuuya knows his FEARS, his flaws, his imperfections… and he accepts it wholly. He drew out strength from that fear. He fears death. He fears to see people dying with him doing nothing. But, those are the exact reasons why he survived… why he was able to survive with the girl he and his best friend loved. Because of fear, he was able to know courage. By accepting himself, he gained strength to protect and to live.

                       Comparing this manga to everyday life is a bit off, I know. The scenarios are way too impossible~ but in a way, it’s the same. Yes, we don’t have such collars that will blow up every time we step on a danger zone… we don’t have to kill anyone just to stay alive. BUT, we all need to ACCEPT ourselves to be rightfully HAPPY. 

                       It has been said that we should learn to love ourselves before we could love others. I guess, it would be correct to say this as well, we should accept ourselves first before others could learn to accept us. Discrimination is a possibility, but who cares? We are who we are.. 🙂 You are who you are.. and I am who I am… The world may turn it’s back on you, but you still have yourself… and eventually, you can find a new world who could accept you. A world who could accept itself.

Hello there! Yes, I know I’ve been silent for quite sometime… I’ve been busy with stuffs like work and all.. I humbly apologize for that..

The more we accept it, the easier for us to face it..

I guess, we’re able to think~

or any other things that are possible to do whenever it arise…

 

We might not end up a hundred percent successful at first…

 

but on the second, third~~~ or even nth time…

 

there’s no way that we’ll end up with the same result…

BAKUMAN (anime series)

 

 

 

BAKUMAN… What does the title mean??

 

• ~BAKU came from three different words: BAKUhatsu – 爆弾 (Bomb), BAKUchi – 博打 (Gambling) and BAKU – 獏 or 貘 (Monster known for eating dreams)
• ~MAN, could basically came from the word MANGA – 漫画 (Japanese comic)

Somehow.. The title suits the story pretty well..

Bakuman (anime series) really got me! I mean… I have watched a lot of anime series but this one is quite different. Well, to put it bluntly, all anime series are different… although at times, there are a lot of similarities.

 

I just finished watching the 3rd and final season of this anime but I couldn’t just sit back and say, “Ohh~ it’s done.. what should I do now?”. As soon as I closed my VLC media player, no.. even before that… I guess, that’s halfway the 22nd episode for S3.. I thought to myself… I want to make a blog post for this! And so… here it is. 

 

(Just like a typical blog post from yours truly, I’d like to share a line from the anime which caught my attention and moved me.)

 

MANGA and LIFE are the SAME thing. A WEEKLY MANGA lasts for a WEEK, and LIFE lasts until you DIE. It’s making the BEST of whatever the TIME you’re given. So, you CAN’T hold back. “CONCEIT” and “LUCK” are important, but the MOST important one is “HARD WORK”.

 

Indeed those words brought me mixed thoughts and emotion. Comparing Manga with Life may be a little off for other people but it won’t be if you’ll watch the anime. For sure, you’ll be able to understand fully how those words came out from the protagonist’s mouth.

 

As an overview, BAKUMAN started up as a story about HOPES and DREAMS. You can read up the summary here.

 

Two very young aspiring mangaka trying to make it BIG in the WORLD. 

 

They actually got an ENORMOUS DREAM.. yet, NEVER did they give up!

 

From S1, they’re already striving so hard to make their dreams come true. They were so young but “age” didn’t hinder their dreams to compete and win against other people. They have been through a lot of trials… one after another. But still, they were able to surpass it.

 

WHY?

 

Simply because… ASHIROGI MUTO wasn’t alone!

 

Another thing that I really liked about this anime is the thought of; “RIVALS supporting ONE ANOTHER”. 

 

One of my favorite characters aside from Ashirogi Mutou is their “Eternal Rival” named Niizuma Eiji. 

 

His character maybe the weird-crazy-funny-type… But among all the other characters, I think he’s someone who has SENSE. I mean~~ I really couldn’t put it into words.. It’s just that, the way he acts is so CHILDISH but he has the RIPEST MIND when it comes to manga. Thus, made him SUPER WORTHY for an opponent.

 

Another thing I liked from the anime was..

 

FUKUDA TEAM…. Yes! They’re the BEST TEAM EVER!

• Ashirogi Muto (Mashiro Moritaka and Akito Takagi)
• Kazuya Hiramaru
• Yuriko Aoki
• Aiko Iwase

~~~perhaps I could also add Takahama Shoyo and Takuro Nakai to the list.. ^^

 

Fukuda Team is always so reliable. All of them are RIVALS when it comes to their manga but they are all COMRADES as well. I just love how they have this so-called HEALTHY COMPETITION. 

 

They COMPETE~ CRITIQUE one’s works~ and SUPPORT one another...

The anime for me… has a really great SHOUNEN-SHOUJO feel to it…

 

The SHOWDOWN between the MANGAKAs was EPIC… and the LOVE STORY between the characters (not just with Mashiro and Miho) was equally EPIC as well!

I’m the kind of person who dreams a lot!

 

There are A LOT OF THINGS that I wanna do in life…. A LOT OF THINGS that I want to become…

 

I’m sure~~ a lot of us feel and think the same way, right??

 

“CONCEIT…. LUCK…. and HARD WORK!”

 

Of course, it will NEVER BE EASY... but it’s also NEVER IMPOSSIBLE!

I guess love indeed is a special feeling… Of course, there are various types of love~~ but let’s talk about the mutual feeling felt by the opposite sex.. 🙂

 

Ohh~~ just a random thought.. I suddenly remembered one line of an anime I recently watched.. it’s called Ano Hana (That Flower).. it somehow goes like this: “I love you not as a friend.. not the love I felt for everyone else.. BUT, I love you like the feeling of wanting to be your bride.”

Awww :”> it was such a cute anime but it was so sad. I even couldn’t help myself from crying~~ if you’re that curious, feel free to search and watch it.. 🙂 It’s just short~~ around 13 episodes, i guess.. >_<

 

Okay~~ moving on..

 

LOVE~~~ I haven’t really experienced having a formal boyfriend yet. Well, you can say I’m a noob but most of my friends say, I’m like a pro when it comes to giving advices.. 🙂

 

Well, I’ve learned a lot…

How? Shoujo manga… :))

 

Reading this type of manga~~ about love, happiness, jealousy, etc.. it teaches you a lot of things.. It may be  fiction but really, you learn. It’s somehow based on real life situations, only that the characters are waaaaay too cute to even exist. (laughs) Nahh, that was a joke! 😛

 

Somehow, reading or watching stuffs about love makes me want to have a boyfriend of my own.. Weird? I don’t think so… There are just times when you put yourself in the shoes of the main character and BANG! You just felt it… The need to love… and be loved..

 

Oftentimes, I would say~~~ Ahh!! I want this type of story for my own. But unfortunately, I can’t.. Well, I can continue to daydream and imagine things~~ however, it will never be the same.. It will never resemble the stories that I’m reading…

 

When I love, I want it to be unique. I want to create my own love story~~ my own fairytale.. ahhh~~ hopeless romantic me.. *slaps face*

 

If only~~~~… (nevermind.. :P)

On a cold and lonely night like this

Gave me goosebumps and a smile on my face

But melancholy now is clouding my heart

Confusions.. curiosity.. they’re tearing me apart
